Why NextGen PhysEd Exists
NextGen PhysEd was built from years of working directly with kids, athletes, and adults, and seeing the same pattern over and over again.
People were active… but not always capable.
Kids could play games, but struggled with basic movement skills.
Athletes trained hard, but lacked coordination and control.
Young adults entered the world without the physical confidence to take on challenges.
At the same time, schools and organizations were doing their best with the time, space, and resources they had.
The gap wasn’t effort.
The gap was structure, intention, and modern application.
NextGen PhysEd was created to close that gap.
Our Philosophy
We believe physical education should:
• Build real, usable physical skills
• Develop confidence through challenge
• Prepare students for real-world demands
• Be measurable, progressive, and intentional
• Support both physical and mental resilience
We believe movement is a skill—and it should be taught that way.
From Audit to Implementation
We provide a complete, end-to-end solution for physical education improvement.
That means:
• Evaluating what currently exists
• Designing smarter, more effective systems
• Upgrading equipment and environments
• Training staff and educators
• Delivering a program that is sustainable long-term
We don’t just consult—we build, implement, and support.
Founded by a Coach and Practitioner
NextGen PhysEd was founded by Ryan McGowan, a coach, business owner, and physical education advocate based in Rhode Island.
Through years of working with youth and adults in both structured and real-world environments, Ryan developed a system focused on practical movement, strength, and capability.
His work blends:
• Natural movement training (MovNat certified)
• Strength and conditioning
• Obstacle and Ninja-based training
• Real-world physical preparedness
The goal has always been the same:
Help people become more capable in the environments they actually live in.
Looking Ahead
NextGen PhysEd is more than a service—it’s a long-term initiative to reshape how physical education is delivered.
We are working toward:
• Stronger alignment with military, police, and firefighter readiness standards
• Internship pathways for future PE teachers
• Scalable programs that can be implemented nationwide
Because the future demands more from our kids—and we believe physical education should rise to meet it.
